Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds

“A whimsical delight for all ages and a gem of french animation”

This was a gamble one night at our small local cinema during CHIFF (Children's International Film Festival). What we found was a wonderful adventure with heart, comedy and drama that whisked us away into a fascinating fantasy world brought to life with a colourful french-animation style. The experience was like many great films both warmly familiar - in the mode of young characters 'going down the rabbit hole' to a strange fantasy world ala Spirited Away, Alice In Wonderland, Narnia and Wizard Of Oz - but with its own strong idiosyncratic soul. I felt a lot of emotions during my time watching Sirocco And The Kingdom Of Winds in the cinema, and a warmth that lingered afterwards. This was a big surprise. If it looks like something you may vibe with, I would highly recommend checking it out.
